Costs for Reserving a Book
- Reserving an item from our library or one of the Northern Beaches Libraries costs $2.50
- Reserving an item from outside the Northern Beaches library service costs $3.00 per item.
- In addition to the $3.00, reservations from the SWIFT Library Co-op (Ashfield, Botany and Marrickville) will cost you $6.00 and from universities or TAFE institutions $16.50.
Overdue Items
If your item is overdue we charge you 30 cents a day per item, up to a maximum of $10.00 per item.
You will be unable to borrow or renew any items, or place a hold on any item until your overdue charges are reduced to less than $5.00.
Lost or damaged items
From time to time items are lost or damaged. If an item is damaged or lost it will cost you $5.00 plus the cost of replacing the item.
Access 1000s of e-books
Your Northern Beaches library card gives you free access to thousands of popular eBooks and eAudiobooks on your device.
Returning Books
Books can be returned to Avalon library both to the desk or the after hours returns box outside the building. Books from any Northern Beaches Council Library may be returned to Avalon Community Library.
